Returning to Molly
All was well in your suburban town until an unknown event set things into an uproar.
The news is frantic, the people are questioning, and the government isn't providing adequate answers. Your daughter, Molly, is safe in an evacuation zone... for now. But recent information puts that safety into question. Pack your back and embark on a journey to reunite with your daughter before it's too late. Have fun and maybe feel a feeling or two in the inventory management visual novel that is, Returning to Molly. Playtime: Approx 15 minutes.
Dev notes: This was my first time tackling any sort of game narrative. Adding that dimension to the game yielded an entirely different level of challenge that was exciting and fun but difficult. Code is relatively easy to write. Dialogue... not so much. As with nearly all of my jam work, I horrifically over-scoped this project; however, after tens of Git commits, hundreds of Twine passages, and an insane amount of narrative duct tape, I can say that I'm walking away from this project content. The narrative isn't nearly as branching as I wanted and the items in your inventory realistically don't matter very much, but I'm happy with it either way. If you give it a shot, I hope you're happy with it too! Shout out to my brother for making the music.
THANK YOU!
Ps: Every bug, error, and typo is a feature until further notice.
